Couples Conference September 2011

Traveling to Nairobi, we pass a little town called EMALI.  Typical scene in every town, people always coming & going, with everything from soup to nuts on top!!  One day we even saw a goat tied to the top of the bus.  It's very common to have chickens up there with their legs tied together.

This guy should have had his "Hazard" flasher on.  The front looked like it had been hit.  The door was hanging off & the windsheild was gone.  The truck was going at a very slow speed.  Not much more left for this ole boy, but they will drive it till it stops in the road!!

This is our KNM Couples (1 Couple is missing) We had a very spiritual meeting here in Lake Nakuru.  Each couple picked a favorite hymn & then spoke a few minutes on why it was their favorite.  Then we sang the hymn. Many tears this day.  Music is dear to our hearts.  The hymn we chose was "I Am a Child of God."  We picked a quartet from the group & they sang the 2nd verse as a quartet & then the entire group sang the 1st & 3rd.   I'm sure Naomi Randall would have loved it.  The windows were open in the room so all visitors could hear our singing.  Our singing was beautiful but the spirit was exquisite!!

We made a Maasi friend, Jeremiah.  He's missing 2 teeth.  That is a sign of a "real" Maasi.  He says they extract them when they are young so that in case their jaws lock, the mothers can give them nourishment.  So watch out for "fake" Maasi out there.    We enjoyed visiting with him while at Lake Nakuru.  He is a good man & we wish him the best in his life.  He was raised in Narok & now lives in the Samburu area of Kenya.  The Maasi believe that God gave all the cattle to them, so they are pastoralists ( graze & herd cattle)

Baboons having fun.

Mr. Blue Bird is on his shoulder!!

Alex ( from Madagascar fame) has been found!!!

She's looking out over the plain spotting lunch.

A beautiful Colobus Monkey
The end of a perfect Conference.  It rained almost every day ( the blessed rain), but still we enjoyed God's creatures & His beautiful earth.
