Little neighborhood children with a toy they made

Changamwe Branch members learning how to enter names into PAF for Geneology records, preparing to go to Jo-Berg Temple Dec 2011

Malindi Coral Reef preserve, Indian Ocean w/Glass bottom boat, the skipper, he put bread in his mouth dove under the boat and fed the fish.  They bit his tongue.  My Birthday outing.

Malindi Town crochet hat makers.

Shimoni Town low tide fishing boats. Check "Shimoni Caves" on the internet, very interesting!

Changamwe Branch Primary (all of them) getting their new CD Player.  Now they will learn the primary songs for the Primary Sacrament meeting program.  They love to sing and this really helps them, they were very excited!!!  They received some supplies this same day, crayons, pencils, paper it was just like christmas.  Happy times are ahead.

Shimoni Town slave cave, 5 kilometers into the earth, slaves were held here until they could be shipped out for sale.  The ocean water came into the cave at high tide.  The slaves were up to their necks in water, chained together so as not to escape, it was very sobering to think man treated man like this.

A Baptism at the local swimming pool; the only font around that could be used by the Mombasa Branch missionaries.  This is Elder Dalling from Rooseveldt, Utah, he is serving as Zone Leader.

This is a Boginvia bush across the road from the Bamburi Branch building.  I couldn't resist it.  The next week there were no blooms!!!

The Coconut processing plant, extracting the nut meat, so it can be processed for the "oil".  This plant gives approx 40 people employment.  The shells, husks are used as fuel and burned in the furnace to cook the coconut meat, during the process.  A Bro Louis Pope from  USA, Utah County, set it up and operates it.  He is a philanthropist over here, he also has a Micro-Finance industry, which provides low interest loans to applicants, so they can start their own businesses.

This lady is extracting the coconut meat from the shell.  It is not that easy, but she made it look very simple.
